The theme, in this case, was to try to equip a small flat for income, with a net area of only 35 square metres, with all the space and comfort required for a medium-high target market.
From the entrance, where a piece of furniture has been designed in the shoulder of the kitchen containing an intercom, an electric panel, an umbrella stand and a small bookcase, one enters the living area, which includes the kitchen created in a niche, small but complete, and a table/desk; opposite, a sofa and a TV stand delimit the living area. A custom-made under-window cabinet conceals the air conditioner from view and becomes a shelf beside the sofa.
A wall-mounted door leads to the bedroom, which has an alcove wardrobe, and from this to a bathroom with an anteroom laundry room and a large masonry shower.
A personal language was used, but easily adaptable to different tastes. The deliberately neutral colours and materials are white, sand, grey and the wood of the floor, precisely to leave the possibility for the end user to customise the environment more easily by means of colours, pictures, small furnishing accessories. Chipperfield’s Piana chairs in primary colours, the only note of colour proposed, create a pleasant contrast against the neutral background.
