Milan, Italy - Preliminary and executive project for the renovation of office building (in partnership with C&W)- 2013

The architectural redevelopment of this building, surrounded by a beautiful tree-lined garden in the north of Milan, took advantage of the inconsistencies of the original design and its haphazard modifications over time.
The most important element characterising the project is the creation of a wall with large horizontal cuts without window frames, from which one looks out onto a new internal balcony. This element, with a single support that keeps it raised above the garden, gives the volume order and lightness.
The main entrance is reached by a long ramp that contributes to structuring the garden space.
Finally, the technical volume on the roof has been masked by a masonry oval.
The project’s reference, respectful but evident, is to the early rationalist architecture of the 1930s or neo-rationalist architecture of the 1960s.
