The aim of the project is to reduce the environmental impact of the primary road that crosses the city and develops along an axis of approximately 1.000 m, proposing the underground passage of the fast route and redesigning the local road network on the surface, creating large green and pedestrian areas, as well as services of public interest (e.g. swimming pool, sports activities).
The proposal is part of a general planning that would have affected Valtellina in view of the 2005 Alpine Ski World Championship.
